| April 4th and 5th marks The first Yarn Garage experience at the Alpaca Expo. Steven, Elliot, Tove, Lori, Monika, Jordan, Kathy and the gang all helped in packing the truck for the one hour trip south to Owatonna. Steven and Elliot set out on their journey around 3 last Friday afternoon. The trunk was unloaded and the booth was set up by 8 p.m.. As one client exclaimed "Oh my, this is just a teaspoon full compared to the real thing" upon seeing our great set up. Most were overwhelmed. |
| The booth was set up as a close replica of the actual Yarn Garage complete with mirrors and vintage furniture. All the newest highlights were laid out for all to preview. Steven had special trunk shows flown in by Great Adirondak, Big Needle Knits by BagSmith, Handpainted Yarns and custom made needles just for this show. Steven will showing these again next week at the Yarn Over in Hopkins. |
| The alpaca were lined up for their turn on the runway. I definitely spotted some young Tyra Banks in the making. |
| This proud alpaca led by our new assistant Dan is wearing a hot new sample created by Margie. The double strand Sock yarn hat called "the cyclone". |
| Steven's fascination with BIG NEEDLE KNITTING is passed on to the next generation. This young man gives his assistance. Both Steven and Lori taught youth classes all weekend. The Demos were a big hit with the audience as most had never seen such big needles. |
| The audience was not just made up of humans. These on-lookers were facinated. "So that is was what these crazy people are doing with our fleece" they mumbled as Steven demo'd with his new Ultra Super Chunky Alpaca yarn by the designers at Bag Smith. |
No one except Steven accepted the challenge to model this new Ozark Handspun creation.
This one was definitely designed for a day at the Alpaca Races. |
| Lori Philips, Steven's great assistant at the shop drove down to help Steven with tending the shop away from home. She is modeling one of her own creations Our top selling cropped cardi pattern in recycled silk from Nepal in bright jewel colors. Lori stands in front of our latest felt creation by Ozark Handspun. A version of this, you too can create in our progressive felting class which explodes on the scene every 4th Thursday of the month. |
