Sparkle Farkle
I was inspired by the yarn Prism....(Stuff) but slightly daunted by the price ($50/skein) so decided to make my own. The end results are several scarves I call my Sparkle Farkle line. I drape them on model Giselle to best show the yarn and the stitches. I use #15 needles, but I cast on with #17's. One thing about knitting...there's a new challenge around every corner. Placemats
Steven, these are the placemats I made with your yarn using the 100% silk that was made in Nepal. They looked so nice with my new tea lantern candle and a new tablecloth to match the cranberry/pink color. I had alot of compliments on them from my guests.

Vintage Cape
I love this Vintage Cape-
My sister Deb, bought me this yarn just before my 50th birthday, I was afraid I wouldn't do the closure right, but I am proud of the final results! This caplet is similar to one my mother made that is now considered a family heirloom!
yarn:Merino Sei black
Lorna's Laces pin stripe
and Art Yarns silk mohair glitter used with both
Yarn selection was guided by Steve!

"PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN" MESSENGER BAG
Fiber Artist: Patty Maxwell
Knitted/felted with gorgeous tones of teal, purple wool & purple/silver mohair this messenger bag has a fabulous flap taking on the look of barnacles & seaweed (dreadlocks) giving it the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Jack Sparrow flair. Several pockets & a twice reinforced base is covered in complimenting fabric taking on the look of the sea. This was an amazing bag to knit & felt & I was very pleased with the exquisite flap with all of the bobbles & fringe felted to look like barnacles & dreadlocks. An over-the-shoulder, reinforced strap enhances the look. |

Steven's Schrug and Hat as done by Pat France
Hi Steven,
Here are 2 pictures of the shrug you helped me with. She loved it and wants to wear it all the time! The hat I also knitted out of different yarn, and she wears it often too.
I wanted to thank you, it really made our Christmas. She was really surprised!

Steven:
Here is the photo of my working diligently on an afghan using Feather and Fan stitch. I created this afghan for a benefit auction and it fetched $100 from the highest bidder. I've been knitting 54 years and now am in my 'Afghan Stage' making this claret colored piece my 10th afghan. I so enjoyed visiting with you when I was in MN in August, Steven. I look forward to visiting the Yarn Garage again soon as it is truly a one of a kind yarn shop. Steven, your sense of style and impeccable taste is evident in every yarn display and in every sample. Thanks much! Best to my friends in Minnesota.

An amazing creation inspired by all the novelty yarns that Steven loves so much. Denise Flynn carries the glitter knitter message
far and wide.
Here is her story:
I started knitting two years ago after admiring a friend's hand made sweater. Beautiful yarns kept my intrigue and fed my new hobby - addiction-!! I LOVE visiting the Yarn Garage for my yarn and Steven for my inspiration. Putting colors and textures together and having that nudge from Steven just to "go for it" let's me be my own artist!

Steven found this great retro fisherman knit afghan pattern for me and some nice wool yarn to knit it with. I love all the retro patterns he has in the store! I learned how to knit about a year ago, with a bit of encouragement from my mom I took on this project and found out that cables are not as difficult as I thought they would be. My tip for knitting a cable pattern like this is to keep a note pad handy to write down where you are in the pattern so that when you put it down you know where you need to pick up again.

This is a great photo from a great knitter. Christine is a devoted grandmother to these darling sisters. She often makes an item in coordinating sets. One of my favorites that she has made is "Christine's amazing tropical colored dream coat" Look for that photo this spring. Christine knits with us almost every week during one of our Wed., Thurs. or Friday night knit nites. Except when her new puppy is in school, that is. She also runs a great drycleaning store in Eagan.

Patty Maxwell's Felted Bowls
Harvest Splendor (triangular bowl) Knitted/felted & needlefelted with Steven's yarn & roving this triangular bowl has a maple leaf felted onto the outside bottom of this piece. I found a Maple leaf outside & made a template & needlefelted the Maple leaf and the outer edges of the bowl after the felting/drying process. This is being used as my Thanksgiving centerpiece. Thanks Steven!
Patty's Felted Purses can be seen at the Minnetonka Center for the Arts during their holiday gift sale. For more information click here.

| This SWIMSUIT COVER-UP was my fifth knitting project. I used 3 different yarns together and I got to use size 35 needles! I've been knitting with Steven since January. I just turned 12 and I'm now working on a 4-color hat. I love knitting because I get to create fun projects and because Steven is an awesome teacher! - Maddy Paulson: Yarn Garage Fiber Artist Knitter |

| "When my mother-in-law and I were in to design her coat, you asked that we send in pictures. It was a wonderful experience knitting with these exotic yarns. The coat is absolutely gorgeous, and was knit with the Segue silk ribbon, and Rainbow Mills rayon cording. We will have to line it, as the silk ribbon wants to sag, due to the length and weight. I’m sure she’s “strutting” around Millstream Commons with it as we speak!! Thanks for all your help- your store is always an inspiration to stay away from “boring knitting”. Jeannie Kanter |
