We offer many classes at the Yarn Garage. Our classes range from beginning knitting to extreme knitting and everything in between. We offer classes for children. Beginning knit and crochet offered. No Experience necessary. Bring a friend and lots of enthusiasm! Wed. & Fri. Evening 6-8 pm OR Tues. & Wed. at Lunchtime noon to 2pm

* Coffee Cozy….

To felt or not to felt that is the question. (Either works fine.) A nifty beginner project done on double pointed needles or the fab new magic loop method. This one-hour project could enhance your morning commute. Basic knitting a plus. Offered Wed. evening from 6-8pm.

* Needlework Clinic…

This open chair session is a simple yarning circle, which invites one to work on a current project, socialize with fellow needle workers and receive casual instruction and advice. Clinic times are Tues. afternoon from 4-6pm or Friday 6-8pm Also available with Lori on Tues and Wed. afternoons 1-3pm

MAIN COURSES

**Circular knitting…

Learn to knit hats, mittens, purses or any round project on a combination of circular and double pointed needles. This is great class for those who have made enough scarves and are looking for the next challenge. Basic knitting knowledge a plus. Offered Wed. and Friday evenings from 6-8 pm and Thursday afternoon from 4-6pm.

**Magic loop knitting…..

Experience the revolutionary technique of knitting socks on one long circular Addi Turbo needle. Knit individually or a pair at a time. Check out all the new silk, bamboo and novelty sock yarns. Basic knitting skills are necessary. Offered Thurs. and Friday afternoons from 4-6pm.

**Mod Knitting with Balls….

$32.00

This course offers an artistic technique of modular knitting. A festive approach to Knitter’s Quilting. Project options vary from Maryana’s angular shawl to Kristen’s felted tote or Steven glitter antics in the ultimate prayer shawl. Not to be missed. Basic knitting skills are necessary Offered Thursday evenings from 6-8pm. Class size limited.

BAMBINI

**Surprise Baby Jacket…

$28.00

Create your version of the Elizabeth Zimmerman Classic. It is knit in one piece using increases, decreases, folds and seams to shape and form the jacket. This origami of knitting can be made to fit a baby or toddler. Adult versions are also possible. Thursday night class meets of 2nd and 3rd Thursday of every month. Class supplies to be chosen in advance. Novelty trims and buttonholes are taught in third follow up session.

Learn the twists and turns of cable knitting while making a hat, scarf or purse in a mired of cables and bobbles. A new novel twist on an old traditional Aran technique. Command of the knit and purl stitch are required. Create custom projects in class or bring a favorite pattern.

** First Sweater Class…..

This class is a must to move past hats and scarves. You will create an easy-knit raglan neck down for baby, child or adult. We will guide you each step of the way and you will have a completed sweater in less that a month. Course offered Mon. and Wed. evenings from 6-8pm.

**Ab Fab Afghan ……

$18.00

To create this most amazing and artistic throw, you will need a color consultation and a simple lace intro. Each combo is one of a kind and can be customized for any décor. We guide you through the color and texture process and calculate size and dimensions to meet your standards. More exciting and adventurous that Survivor. Private consultation appointments to be made with Steven.

DESSERT

**Sweater Finishing….

$32.00

Learn to seam and block your sweater. Set in sleeves, raglans, necklines, collars and much more. This is a three-session class with homework assignments. Custom times are available for this one on one course.

**Project-a-new…..

$26.00

Learn finishing and shaping techniques for any of those so-so projects. A felted project that needs a fresh look or detail, a scarf that needs pizzazz or a sweater that just doesn’t fit. Steven can work with you for that winning finale that will get oohs and aahs. Course available most Monday evenings by appt. or is offered on the second Sunday of every month from 1-3pm. Please sign up for specific date. Creativity and possibility are the only requirements.

Katie shows off the Socks

Maryana, our talented classic knitter brings her expertise to the Yarn Garage. She demonstrates the revolutionary techniques of knitting socks on one long circular Adi Turbo needle. Start at the cuff, continue on to the heel and come back for the third lesson to complete the toe. She captures the intricacies and nuances of knitting this new technique combined with the novelty of Steven's new collection of cotton stretch, bamboo or silk sock yarns.

Class cost: $30.00 includes three sessions which takes you from beginning to completion. Pay Fee in shop or via paypal to Hold Seat.

Materials cost: 400 plus yards of sock yarn - ($12 to $20), size #1 or#2 circular needles ( cost $13)

STICKS AND STRINGS Beginner Knitting and Crochet Classes

Sign up for one or all of our variety beginner classes. They are offered every Tues. and Wed. afternoon from noon to 2pm. In addition we offer the same opportunity every Wed. and Fri. evening from 6-8pm. There are many beginner project options like our felted self striping purse, a novelty fashion scarf or even our basic circular hat. Project and materials may chosen in advance of class.

Class cost: $20.00 includes two creative sessions ranging from technique to creativity. Materials not included. Class fee can be taken care of in shop or via paypal to Hold Seat.

Private classes are offered through the Yarn Garage. It’s a great way to get your friends and family together to experience the craft of knitting. Sign up with caution because this therapy session is not covered by most insurance. If you are an extreme knitter and are tired of knitting blankets, hats and mittens, stay alert for the next Naughty Knit Night. This class is not for the weak at heart. Be prepared to knit your socks off and laugh along with all of the other members.
